I just got a phone call from Fae. If you don’t know Fae, you totally should. She’s the owner of Fae’s flowers, and she’s been in the flower business a long time.
The best part about this particular phone call was knowing that my annual Christmas arrangement would be delivered soon
And they were here in less than 30 minutes. I guess they know this girl can’t wait!
Okay, enough about Fae. These are actually from my Dad. My thoughtful mustache-less Dad who really knows how to keep the women in his life close.
I’d like to say that he does this out of the kindness of his heart. And he does, he really does. But deep down there’s a little expectation involved. A special expectation only a Dad can use against you.
You see, someone has to make peanut butter balls and pumpkin rolls. (Yes Jac, I guess I can let you off the hook this year) And any other traditional holiday delight we are making. A Dad really deserves his own plate, sometimes even a whole batch. Don’t worry, he gets a whole batch every now and then.
So every December when I cover my kitchen in powdered sugar, I can enjoy the wonderful centerpiece on my table as I slave away at the double boiler and sheet after sheet of parchment.
Its made with fresh evergreens (so my house can now smell like Christmas!) and festive flowers. And there’s always just enough candles for each member of my family.
Love it Dad! Thank you!
Here’s my arrangement from last year, the year before that, and the year before that. I didn’t blog or take pictures of everything the first 2 years we were married. I did other things like work out a lot and go to nursing school. Weird how much changes in 4 years
