The other day our little friend Celia turned 6, and she had a Barbie Birthday at Jordan Valley! The kids loved running around the park and playing in the water.
This cake was so adorable- I loved the pink icing! Joslyn loved it too. I kept trying to give her bites without icing, and she would say, “Some pink, Mommy!”
Anywho, on a different note, I just found out that my neighbor Becky (the one with the other Joslyn) now sells Pampered Chef…….AND apart from making me brownies last night and letting me play with all her new toys…..
…She clued me in to the easiest way to make these Barbie cakes.
You know the Pampered chef mixing bowl with a handle and spout? Its this one:
I’m sure there is one hiding in the cabinet or at your mom’s house. Its oven safe, and the perfect bowl to make a “Doll cake”.
I especially like how this one has a base on the bottom of the cake for stability (AND it was chocolate!).
You can even use their smaller condiment bowls to make miniature doll cakes- sort of like cupcakes- LOVE IT!
Here’s some cool examples I found:
