Garden Update

Remember that spacious garden box Justin built a few months ago? It is now filled to the brim and over-flowing. It really didn’t start out that way- I had everything neatly spaced out (almost) according to the package instructions.

But now? Its a little tight in there.

The cucumbers are taking over.

The tomatoes are doing great, but they’re starting to team up with the broccoli to block out the light for the red peppers. (Sorry about the horrible light, that’s what happens when you forget you’re on AUTO….but you can actually see TONS of little green tomatoes…)

And the watermelon….I have no idea what’s going on there, but it seems to be growing…..

The rosemary is hidden, I thought it had enough room. Afterall, I already removed the dill and oregano…I guess I get to look for a pot to move that to also.

But the good news?
I have loads of broccoli, too much to eat, and thus a freezer bag I add a little to everyday.

AND, I’ll have cucumbers coming out of my ears soon, and since they don’t freeze as well…. expect to be handed a couple if you plan on stopping by my house.

I imagine I’ll have tons of tomatoes too, but its still to early to tell.

And the herbs…..oh the herbs….From left to right, basil, cilantro, flat leaf parsley, and stevia (yeah! the bugs stopped eating it), there is also thyme on the other side of the gazebo- it suffered a small candle wax incident last night, but I think its doing okay…

I’ve been staring at Jacque’s pesto recipe since last October (when my basil died off) just waiting for my chance this year.

We are close to homemade pesto people…..real close…
