I absolutely love being outside this time of year. Joslyn calls it “side” and asks to go “side” as soon as she is awake and all day long.
Can’t I really blame her?
Last year I set out on a quest to find some great vintage metal lawn furniture. The kind that we can use for a long time.
Now when I said “I” set out on a quest, I’m really talking about Dennis, my father-in-law. He set out on a quest for me….
..because, really…..I know no better treasure hunter.
And he delivered! Here is my beautiful loveseat glider (that he also sanded and painted for me- THANK YOU!) They all started out a really bright royal blue color- all over. Yuck.
I really love what he did with the white handles! I think it really brings out the green color, and makes it look more vintage.
I also have two matching chairs that we painted blue and yellow (both with the white handles). Love them, love them, love them!
After staring at this swing for so many weeks of cold weather, we finally get to enjoy it. Besides, I couldn’t help myself when I found the fabric at F.M…..and I happened to have few throw pillows that needed covering.
Stay posted-I’ve got more home projects coming that involve nothing further than a can of spray paint. I’ll be re-doing a perfectly functional (but ugly) ceiling fan, and showing you what I did to my kitchen cabinet knobs.
We’ve been doing so much that I’m starting to think we should buy stock in rustoleum.
Check out what other people are “fixing” in their house with a little can of paint:
Here is Ree’s plumbing dilemma. (and her fix)
New dining room chairs from apartment therapy.
More lawn chairs from apartment therapy.
And a mirror turned into a message board from Design Sponge.
For using aerosol paint, remodeling/refurbishing your home without buying lots of new stuff is the greenest thing to do!
