New toy for my blog

Early in our marriage Justin and I learned one important thing: spending lots of money without permission is a bad idea. A equally bad idea is spending money on something he really wants without letting me get something I really want. You get a new toy= I get a new toy.

So when he sets his eyes to something I can rest assured that he’ll save double what it costs just so that I can get something too. He’s really smart- catches on quickly. What a guy!

So after Christmas he set his sights on a new computer monitor- and me? I got a new photography “studio”.

I was super jealous of Sarah’s cool equipment (carter photos). But what I need was more for still photography (ie. food) So I took the advice of Jaden over at Steamy Kitchen and got two Lowell lights with a backdrop.

Okay, so its not quite a “studio” its just our guest bedroom/storage room. But check it out:

Don’t hate me for taking a picture of Elmo. Joslyn was asleep and I needed some “portrait” shots.

Oh yeah, this is what I spent my Borders gift certificate on (thank you Jeremy!) every recipe is already adjusted to use whole wheat flour.

I have SO many more pictures, but I have to pair them with recipes! So you’ll just have to wait for now.

Oh, and if you were wondering about the waffles- they were divine. They were whole wheat banana waffles with 100% pure maple syrup. I’ll post the recipe later.
