What I’m sippin

This edition of “What I’m sippin” has been brought to you by my amazing and beautiful co-worker, Heather……. aka. HT.

Heather recently went on a romantic getaway with her hubby to Jamaica. And, like a friend of a food and coffee lover, she brought me back a bag of authentic 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee!!!!

THANK YOU HEATHER!!!!

Lets just say this is great coffee. My only complaint is that the coffee is not as bold/dark as I expected. It tastes wonderful, however. Its one of those coffees that don’t need anything to help boost the flavor- like those super sweet creamers. (Sort of like a good steak with ketchup……cough-Mom!)

I’m not very skilled at describing my coffee tasting experiences, and I’m not going to pull your chain telling you about the “sweet undertones” that I’m not really detecting. So, I’ll leave it to the professionals. Here’s a quote from the website about their coffee:

“Up in the lofty Blue Mountains of eastern Jamaica, where daybreak must sift through the early morning mist, lies Mavis Bank, a small rural town. This is the site of Jamaica’s exalted “black gold”, the home of the Mavis Bank Central Factory, the domain of the world’s beloved Blue Mountain Coffee.

Coffee aficionados agree- the JABLUM taste is wonderfully exotic- a balanced medley of fleeting richness, sweetness and tempered acidity. But it is the lingering experience, the haunting aftertaste that still defies description. JABLUM’s coffee experience, after all, has been cradled in well-guarded tradition for generations.”

Coffee lovers stay tuned for more “What I’m sippin” entries soon. I just got a pound of locally roasted coffee from the Amish Store and 2 pounds of fresh Columbian roast. I’ll let you know how it goes…..
