Some friends of mine threw a shower last week. This was no typical menu either, it was an all-out lavish array of foods to please your palette. Allow me to indulge….
First there was the spicy Mexican cheesecake, with lots of crackers for lots of trips back to the counter!

Then the Sausage Balls. These are really simple to make and yet taste delicious. Perfect party food or appetizer.
Next: the cakes. The cake on the left is a chocolate caramel toffee cake. It was divine in ways only chocolate can be. The cake on the right was, however, probably the best cake I’ve ever had. It was a strawberry cake. Now, I’m not just talking plain strawberry. It started white (I think) and then while still hot it was soaked in fresh pureed strawberries in a gelatin mixture. Another fresh strawberry sauce was “gelatinized” and used between layers. It was then covered in real whipped cream.
If the chocolate was divine, the strawberry was immaculate.

And last but not least is the cinnamon and sugar biscotti. I love these, and in fact I’m eating one right now
I posted about these the last time Jer made a big batch……mmm, a classic.

I’ll close with a picture of my girls: Beth and Bekah. These two I’ve grown up with and will forever remain friends no matter what life throws our way. I love you two! Thanks for the party to you and all the other ladies who worked SO hard to make it happen!
