Where do I start? We spent a couple days out in the sticks with my friends Kasie and Fish. Really his name is Justin, but we just call him Fish so we don't get the Justins confused. They have got an awesome piece of land and a log cabin out there. I'm thinking more about how I'd love to just pack up and move out to the sticks myself.
Their family was so hospitable as they treated us to a fireworks display, bonfire/trash burning explosion (hey, I said we were going to blow things up), blackberries, great home cooking, an afternoon swimming at the creek, and a local fireworks show. Oh, and a lot of just chillin' around the farm. Why did we ever come back??
Here's some pictures from the week:
This is
Harold the scarecrow. He is a new addition to the farm this summer. You can read all about him on Kasie's blog. Oh, and she's just kidding about the NNA hole. The sign was taken down when we went, so I didn't get proof. But remember: just kidding.

This is Harold's garden. Again...JEALOUS! I think my whole backyard is about that big. Sigh.

The Justins riding to the creek in the back. We did some grilling, and a lot of eating.

This is Justin practicing his
Bear Grylls skills. We've been watching Man vs. Wild on Discovery channel sort of religiously, and now of course feel the need to practice our survival skills. Hey, for Bear, they're skills that pay the bills!

This is Reese, who joined the rest of us just sitting in the river or swimming around trying to find cool rocks. Ahh, again, I love just doing nothing. When the objective of the afternoon is to find cool rocks, you KNOW its a good day.

Then we gambled with mother nature to see just how many fireworks we could see before the tornado watch became a tornado warning. And this is the sky during the fireworks display (pardon the power lines). Needless to say we drove home in the rain on curvy roads with fog at a moderate rate of speed in order to beat the storm. That was a rush!

I have so many other pictures, but I don't want to bore you all. Hopefully this weekend I can find the perfect blackberry recipe for my wild handpicked blackberries. Oh, and I got tagged for the
meme 8 things you didn't know about me. Coming soon. So, see ya later!
