Garden Beauty

I have almost officially planted everything my little heart wants to plant this year. The almost part is because I have everything purchased, tilled, and spaced, but it just started raining! Grr.

This year I have decided to go a little out of my comfort zone and plant some things I’ve never planted or even heard of. Who knows what will happen? Being the average gardener that I am, maybe some of it will actually grow. (Below average?)

Anyway, in the herb/vegetable section we have: Jalenpenos galore, tomatoes, green beans, cilantro, strawberries, blueberries, lavender and peppermint. I have yet to start my onions, which was a huge priority a couple months ago, but I’ve simply run out of space to plant them.

And in the flower category, I splurged this year and bought some perennials so the flower expense doesn’t continue year after year (Yeah right). But I still have some lovely annuals that I can’t live without. We have: Petunias, impatients, something I already forgot, hibiscus, clematis, Coreopsis, garden phlox in red and white, and creeping phlox. Oh, and lets not forget the enormous rose bush collection I inherited at this house that I still have no idea what to do with.

Any rose people out there? I know there is certain things you do with roses, but I just can’t figure it out….

Oh, and about the strawberries. I used to have strawberries until a little brown poodle discovered them to be a nice snack.
